Strategies to Engage Children and Youth who Have Been Exposed to Trauma
Children exposed to early childhood trauma, also known as Adverse Childhood Experiences or ACEs, often have difficulty in school and are at risk of poor physical, emotional and mental health as adults.
This workshop will help you understand:
- The science of childhood trauma and the impact on brain development.
- How to teach kids why their brains sometimes “won’t cooperate” and what to do about it.
- How to use strengths-based plans to foster learning and engagement for kids who are exposed to trauma.
- How to lead youth including those exposed to trauma.
